Pediatric Therapies

Occupational Therapy

Our team of occupational therapists are focused on helping children strengthen their fine motor, visual motor and sensory processing skills so that they are able to participate in their daily tasks. Occupational Therapists may treat children for a variety of reasons. Some of these reasons may include, but are not limited to sensory processing challenges, developmental delays, picky eating, oral motor delays, congenital disorders (i.e., Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy), developmental disorders (i.e., Autism Spectrum Disorder) and feeding issues.

Physical Therapy

Our physical therapists work with your child to promote independence and facilitate motor development. Physical Therapists address strength, range of motion, endurance, body alignment, coordination, balance, positioning, posture, motor planning and sensory integration. We focus on interventions addressed to gain new motor skills such as rolling, sitting, crawling, walking, running and jumping. Physical Therapists can help children with many issues, including delays in developmental milestones, genetic disorders, muscle weaknesses, poor coordination or motor planning, nerve or muscle conditions, or recovery from injury.

Feeding Therapy*

Our feeding clinic aims to help your child establish a positive relationship with food and mealtimes. We strive to help children experiencing various feeding challenges from sensory sensitivities and picky eating behaviors, to oral motor difficulties. We are a team of Speech-Language Pathologists and Child Development Specialists who have received training on the feeding intervention of Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS).

If your child presents with any of the following, they may benefit from feeding therapy:

  • Diet limited to a restricted number of foods
  • Food aversions due to texture or sensory issues
  • Gagging or choking on food
  • Slow or poor weight gain
  • Taking longer than 30 minutes to eat a meal
  • Throwing food
  • Refusing to eat

Speech-Language Therapy

We work with children who have a wide-range of communication delays and disorders. These disorders include speech (articulation, fluency, and voice), language (understanding and/or using language), social (interpersonal relationships, reciprocal conversations, and perspective taking), and cognitive (problem solving, paying attention, and organizing thoughts).
